Setting up a precast concrete slab production plant in Ghana
While private players within the construction space in Ghana have resorted to more innovative means to undertake building and civil engineering works (i.e. the conversion of shipping containers into residential and commercial buildings, among others), such exploits are insufficient to bridge the prevailing gap between the demand and supply of cost-effective and sustainable infrastructure. Capitol Engineering Limited (Ghana) together with Iberra LLC (USA), hold that the issues mentioned above that plague the Ghanaian construction industry can be viably addressed with the radical inclusion of modern technology into the operations of construction firms.
Our Approach
Different consulting sessions were held with the client to gain clarity on the exact problem they were seeking to solve. These sessions were also useful in discussing the financial plan of the project using a financial planning template we developed for the client.
Market Research
We then carried out market research to evaluate whether the technology the client hoped to introduce was going to be successful or not, as well as to ascertain the viability of the project and the market size.
Financial Planning
Using our financial plan template, we developed a 5-year financial plan for the project and discussed with clients in different strategy sessions. this helped to view the project and the dream from a financial perspective.
Business Plan Development
Once the financial plan was done, we went ahead to develop a very robust business plan that was also investor-attractive, which the client used to raise a debt investment of about $4.8 million.
